Parent obligations also see Aims
1. Parents must be full-paying members of the asssociation and are expected to take part in meetings. Attendance at the annual general meeting is obligatory, and desirable at other general meetings throughout the year.
2. Parent members must inform themselves of the constitution of the association and abide by its statutes.
3. Parents are expected to collaborate in fulfilling the aims of the association and its constitution.
4. Parents must accept all decisions and rulings taken by the association and its board.
5. Parents will be encouraged to involve themselves in the running of the nursery as much as possible, by helping with, for example, substitution, cleaning, purchasing material and equipment, administration, participation in the affairs of the association, and by following the instructions of the board.
6. Parents must pay their monthly fees on time.
7. Parents must direct their views on the running and operation of the nursery to the association’s meetings and/or directly to the board.
8. Parents must make themselves available to substitute when necessary

Eligibility
In order for a family to be eligible for membership in the association, English must be regularly spoken at home and the family must be registered in Stockholm Municipality (mantalsskriven i Stockholms kommun). Priority is given to those families where one or both parents have English as their mother tongue.

Health policy see key concepts health
If your child is not feeling well, for any reason, you need to keep him or her at home. If a child is too sick to go outside then the child would be too sick to come to the nursery. If a child becomes sick during school hours, the parents will be phoned and asked to pick up the child. The child will be isolated from other children until the parent arrives.
All parents receive a copy of the 'Illness Guidelines' when joining the nursery.

Monthly fee
Current fees are according to maxtaxa set by Stockholm municipality.
3% of family income with a max. of 1260 SEK per month for one child (fulltime).
2% of family income with a maximum of 840 SEK per month for 2nd child.
1% of family income with a maximum of 420 SEK per month for 3rd child.
Part-time / 3-5 years old:
1% of family income with a maximum of 420 SEK per month for 2nd child.
Fees are paid monthly, 12 months of the year.

Toys to school
Children may bring toys to share on their maturity group day. Books and CDs can be brought in any day. They will be placed in the home toy box or kept in the childs drawer. Parents are asked to help children to empty their drawer daily. Guns, knifes and any violent object are not allowed in the nursery.

Substitution/Contact day
A substitution administrator makes sure that substitutes amongst parents are found when needed. Parents must make themselves available to substitute when necessary. We encourage parents to spend a contact day at the nursery at least once a term.
Parents are asked to keep a regular check on the substitution notice board in the hallway and volunteer when opportunities are posted.

Please take the opportunity whenever possible to participate in your child's day at the nursery. The notes 'daily routines' will give you background knowledge, but it is more effective -- and fun -- to actually spend the day with us. It is essential that you are conversant with our routines if called upon to substitute.

Staff meetings days
Staff meetings are held once a month from 15.00 on a Monday. Parents volunteer to substitute for those children who can not be collected by 15.00 on these days.

Cleaning
Regular cleaning services are provided by a professional company three times a week. All families are expected to participate in a major, thorough cleaning day once a term (March/Nov)

Arrival and pick up routines
The staff requests that all children arrive before 09.00 in order to facilitate daily activities starting on time. It also makes the transition easier for the child and a nicer beginning of the day. If you know that you will be arriving late, make sure you call the nursery before 09.00!

For further information see Key concept on Arrival and collection.

Make sure your child is dressed properly for the day and has extra clothing at the nursery.

Please sign up when and who is picking up when you arrive with your child in the morning. The staff will not permit an unannounced person to pick up. Make sure that we always have a contact telephone number during the day.

It is recommended to arrive in good time before nursery closing in order to be able to exchange information with teachers and make happy goodbyes. Also families have to respect the closing time and the rights of staff to leave on time.

Communication and messages
Parents are asked to keep up with daily nursery activities by checking the information on the notice board and white board every day both am and pm.

For non-urgent matters concerning your child please contact the headteacher or your child's teacher. Please respect that it is hard for teachers to talk at length with parents especially during morning arrival, therefore it is recommended to save that for pick up time or to make an appointment with a teacher.

For any matter concerning school questions in terms of ideas, requests, suggestions etc please contact any board member or teacher.

Parents are required to read the board meeting minutes, the notice boards in the hallway, and regularly check their mail box for information. It is equally important that they communicate their ideas, feelings and concerns to the board.
