An extension of the nursery was opened in August 1993 that provides daycare for younger children, prior to their entry into the school. This group consists of a minimum of three children, aged from twelve months, and has its location in a home environment close to Humpty Dumpty.
All members of the Toddler Group must be prepared to host the group in their home. Food, equipment and toys are provided by the nursery and the host family receives financial compensation for cleaning, electricity, wear and tear costs. The daily running of the group is currently the responsibility of a fulltime preschool assistant, Helen Speakman-Lundholm, who works in close cooperation with other nursery staff.
The Toddler Group participates regularly in nursery activities, e.g starting and concluding each day in the main nursery. This helps acquaint the toddlers with the nursery routines, staff and children, thus providing for a smooth transition when joining the main nursery. Siblings and children of the Toddler Group receive priority when a vacancy occurs in the nursery. The Toddler Group is currently open from 8:30 until 16:30 Monday to Friday.
